About the Author
Introducing Michael and Debi Pearl Michael and Debi Pearl have been married since 1971. They have 5 children and 21 grandchildren. Between them they have authored 14 books and 8 booklets which combined have sold millions. Much of what they write deals with marriage, child training, and homeschooling. One of their recent books, Good and Evil (Bible stories in Marvel comic format), has been published into 40 languages with another 60 translations soon to be ready for press. The Pearl s also publish a 40 page bi-monthly magazine with a subscription of over 50,000. Needless to say they are prolific writers and public speakers. On another note, Michael is an inductee into the International Knife Throwers Hall of Fame and holds several world titles, including Gold Cup winner of 2008-9, long distance thrower of the year with a record all time high of hitting a four inch target at 63 feet, and he is the undisputed best tomahawk thrower of 2009, holding the world title. When he is not teaching the Bible or speaking to audiences on how to have a good marriage and obedient children he is teaching kids how to stick a bull s eye with a knife or hawk. Debi Pearl and husband Michael have 5 children and 15 grandchildren. Between them they have author 14 books and 8 booklets which combined have sold millions. This book saved my life

This text is an excellent introduction into the world of EMC. It provides valuable knowledge, rules of thumb, and techniques garnered from decades of experience in the agency certification arena.
While the book's focus is mainly on FCC certification for notebook computers I found it easy to relate with the DO-160D guidelines I was attempting to meet.
Terrell and Keenan provide the reader with as nice a read as the material inside. For an engineering text it is wonderfully written and provides brief moments of wit and humor that make it very easy to move through.
Overall I highly recommend this text.

About the Author

Sabine Roeser is Professor of Political Philosophy and Ethics at Twente University (Socrates Chair, part-time), Associate Professor of Ethics at TU Delft, and managing director of the 3TU.Centre for Ethics and Technology. She has been trained in fine arts, philosophy and political science, with a PhD in ethical theory. She has obtained various prestigious research grants for her innovative research on risk and moral emotions. She currently leads a research group on ‘Moral Emotions and Risk Politics’. She is regularly interviewed for popular media in the Netherlands. She has organized many international conferences. Roeser has given more than 100 presentations at international conferences and other academic events. Rafaela Hillerbrand is head of the research group Ethics for Energy Technology. Before joining HumTec Rafaela Hillerbrand was working as a senior research fellow at the University of Oxford on epistemological and ethical problems for decions under risk and uncertainty. Hillerbrand's research traverse epistemological problems related to the interpretations of probabilities, quantitative modelling, and foundational aspect of statistical mechanics. Hillerbrand holds a PhD in theoretical physics as well as a PhD in philosophy. For her book on the ethics of technology, which covers aspects of applied ethics just as well as genuine theoretical normative ethics, she received the Lilli-Bechmann-Rahn-Preis of the University Erlangen Nürnberg in 2005. Her PhD in physics was awarded the Ingrid-zu-Solms Naturwissenschaftspreis 2008. She is an elected member of the German Young Academy of Sciences (Junge Akademie).

Per Sandin received his PhD from the Royal Institute of Technology, Stockholm, in 2005 on a thesis entitled Better Safe than Sorry: Applying Philosophical Methods to the Debate on Risk and the Precautionary Principle. He has mainly worked in applied ethics and topics on risk and policy, and his work has appeared in journals such as Human and Ecological Risk Assessment, Philosophia, Journal of Risk Research and Ethical Theory and Moral Practice. Between 1999 and 2005 he was editorial assistant of Theoria and associate editor for the same journal between 2005 and 2007. Martin Peterson is author of two books, An Introduction to Decision Theory (Cambridge University Press, 2009) and Non-Bayesian Decision Theory (Springer, 2008). He has published about 40 articles in peer-reviewed journals such as Risk Analysis, the Journal of Philosophy, and the Journal of Risk Research. Peterson received his PhD in philosophy in 2003 from the Royal Institute of Technology, Stockholm. He is currently an associate professor of philosophy at Eindhoven University of Technology. Between 2005 and 2008 he worked for three years at the University of Cambridge, where he was a Research Fellow in the Department of History and Philosophy of Science and Director of Studies in Philosophy at St Edmund's College. He has also held teaching and research positions at the Royal Institute of Technology and at Lulea University of Technology.

Awful!

After all the rumors I'd heard, I expected to be genuinely scared by this. Instead, it read like an equipment manual - BORING. This guy is supposed to be in college yet my fourth grader has written stuff with better grammar and punctuation. Thank goodness I'm only out 99 cents on this piece of crap. Save yourself the time and money and just google Zozo if you're looking for good, scary stories on the subject.

Your story would have been told better had you changed names so that you could have disclosed full details instead of leaving half out. And btw there is a God you didn't once try to get help. If you had tried to get help from a church or someone that was and expert in that type of thing then you would have been better off. A waste of 99 cent to me.

Understanding Japan Through Shintoism

Having lived in Japan for almost two decades now, I got this book to learn more about the primary "religion" of my host country.

I like the author's objective approach, and how he was able to establish the difference between existential and essential Shintoism, by exploring and analyzing how they evolved throughout the history of this nation.

I would recommend this book to anybody interested in Japan and the Japanese people. I would also recommend this book to anybody interested in religion and spirituality.

I rated it five stars because it gave me a better understanding of the way the Japanese people think and behave through the "religion" that has been part and parcel of their culture and their history.

No Code Included

The Kindle Fire version of this textbook is generally easy to use and I am mostly happy with it. It is so much handier to have an EBook version than lugging around a bulky print book that it makes up for the few faults I have encountered. I wish it came with standard Kindle functionality but this is not the case. I have vision problems so the ability to re-size the font would be nice. You can expand/contract the image size with finger pinching movements but have to do so on each page, and having to scroll around the expanded page in order to see all of the text gets a bit old. On the plus side, you can make notes and bookmarks, and the text is searchable. I expect that if Amazon could have included Kindle functions, they would have.

I have one complaint that Amazon CAN address. The product description does not make it clear that a WileyPlus access code is NOT included in the price. If you are taking an on-line class this code will have to be purchased separately. For price shoppers out there, this is critical information and should be included in the description. This is true of any text book which would normally have an access code, not just this particular book.

Heavy books = full of useful information.

Man, how I initially hated this course. However, the textbook is very clear and offers good examples. I also recommend signing up for the online component (as our instructor required) because the additional practice and reference materials are actually helpful. If you're need a textbook to teach yourself accounting or to teach others, I think you do a self-guided course with this book.

Downside, it's freaking huge and quite heavy. Not bookbag friendly. There are versions that are sold as binder sheets so you could just take the evening's assigned chapters to class.

Great reference book!

I used this book for 2 accounting classes and as a reference for 2 others. It's well laid out, though wordy at times, and provides clear examples to follow, though I think it helps to have some accounting background (like a basic college accounting class) to get the most out of it. In fact, I like this textbook so much I finally just bought a used copy. Since I don't perform all the duties of an accountant every day, I use this a reference and resource book. I highly recommend this book for anyone who needs to a reference or a refresher for accounting practices (even my accounting professor keeps an extra copy in her business office for that purpose).
