Good reference

I like this book and use it. C for dummies is too full of words having nothing to do with c while many other books are too full of words having so much to do with c that you can not find anything. This is the ABCs of c. It does not include algorithms or cover the peculiarities of special function registers in micro-controllers but if you haven't used "case" in awhile or forgotten the symbol for nor it is a great reference. I've recommended it to colleagues and have received good feedback.

About the Author
Author, artist, and educator Mary Stewart is the Foundations Program Director for the Art Department at Florida State University and co-founder of Integrative Teaching Thinktank, a national organization devoted to strengthening college-level teaching. She regularly gives workshops and lectures on creativity, curriculum design, visual communication, leadership and visual narrative. Her artwork has been shown in over eighty exhibitions nationally and internationally, and she has received two Pennsylvania Council on the Arts grants for choreography. She received the FATE (Foundations in Art: Theory and Education) Master Educator award and the National Council of Arts Administrators Award of Distinction in 2009.

The book itself is fine.I ordered it for my arts class. The only issue is that the pictures and images on this ebook are terrible. Most of them are blurred. It is very dificult to see the details on the images. I was expecting quality pictures that matched the printed version. I'm dissapointed at this ebook.

Dr. Werner W.K. In addition to PRINCIPLES AND LABS FOR PHYSICAL FITNESS, Dr. Hoeger has published several Cengage Learning texts including Fitness and Wellness, Principles and Labs for Physical Fitness, Lifetime Physical Fitness and Wellness, Wellness: Guidelines for a Healthy Lifestyle, and Water Aerobics for Fitness and Wellness. Dr. Hoeger is a former luge athlete (2002 and 2006 Winter Olympian); All-American by USA Track & Field in 2012, 2014, 2015, and 2016; and renowned fitness and wellness innovator. Everyone should read this book in conjunction with a fitness class! If you have any medical problems associated with obesity, then this book will help provide insight. There are no "magical" cures or weight loss pills, programs that will work except for the "tried and true" hard work of healthy eating habits and exercise as described in this book. The self-tests in this book give you an excellent assessment of your health and even predict how long you may live depending on how you live now. People pay hundreds of dollars to see nutritionists, personal trainers and health care providers who follow the recommendations in this book. I am an RN and this helped fill the gaps in my education as well as help me lose weight (body fat) and has pointed me in the direction of a healthy life-style. I often refer to this book for guidance.

I got this for school but I ended up using it on my own! It's very informative on nutrition, diet, healthy lifestyles and how the body works, but my favorite part of it is the stretches and excersizes it has in it. The diagrams and pictures for stretches and excersizes are very resourceful, and even give you alternative options to common stretches that are better on your body. It also contains a lot of fitness and wellness evaluations and physical tests you can perform to evaluate yours health. If you read this book front to back and followed it's advice, you would be very knowledgeable and very healthy! Worth the buy if you are interested in keeping a good resource for the science behind nutrition and wellness.

I am so disappointed when I received this book. Some of the pages were missing especially the lab part. I had to buy an ebook version online just to print the lab I needed for the class. What a waste of money. This was sold to me by fastbook6.

Honestly this book really left a lot to be desired. It does a poor job of explaining how things fit together in the overall architecture and jumps way too fast into an example that's hard to follow along. Not friendly unless you already have an instance of Azure spun up and even then you aren't going to be using the source data described in the book.

I'd look elsewhere.

There are a lot of books out there on changing your attitude, creating a powerful habit, and any number of other thoughts on how to change your attitude, but they fall into either theory or heavy on stories and little on the actual actionable steps.

One of the big struggles with attitude adjustment is being able to fight against the negative side and taking the time to work consistently towards a positive you. In these eight steps, which are easy to follow, but will take discipline to follow through with each day, you will be able to reclaim your life.

Faithful faithful to follow the steps, and you will find that you will be happier, more productive, and others will be more attracted and receptive towards you. Attitude Overhaul takes those bits and pieces of advice we've all heard many times and connects them in a cohesive way. As a result, the book is a road map to improving ones attitude. The layout is logical, the advice is easy to understand, and the examples are easy to follow. I especially liked the description of the different kinds of negative attitudes. Each presents its own challenge and requires a different strategy to turn around. If you're looking for a book to help you weave together all the steps you've heard about trying to fix up your attitude, this is the book for you.

An Outstanding Edition of Eldritch Horror

I was sent a review copy of this book from ye publisher, & my immediate impression was that it is one of the most handsome editions of Lovecraft's weird fiction that I have ever held. The boards are so shiny! The metallic inks used in the beautiful designs and fine John Coulthart artwork are vibrant and effective. I can sit and simply admire the beauty of the book for a while before opening it. The edges of the pages are gold, as is the convenient book ribbon inside ye tome. Then one opens to ye endpapers, which reproduce a portion of the artist's rendition of R'lyeh in dark green inks on pale green stock.

Contents-wise, this is one of the strongest Lovecraft collections ever publish'd, and it is a perfect book to give as gift to any friend to whom one wou'd want to introduce E'ch-Pi-El's weird fiction. The quality of Lovecraft's writing is usually excellent, and the majority of these stories are superb. What might make this edition of especial interest to anyone who has but a single volume of Lovecraft's most popular stories is ye inclusion of several of the revisions/collaborations, ye texts of most being entirely written by Lovecraft based on wee plot outlines or synopses by other writers. Most peculiar, to this reviewer, is the story "The Horror in the Museum". It almost reads like a parody of Lovecraft's Mythos tales; and yet why wou'd Lovecraft want to mock his own Work, his approach to which was one of artistic integrity? I want to reject the idea that Lovecraft would make fun of his fiction in a tale that is overblown and at times absurd (I protest the idea that Lovecraft wrote "The Hound" as a parody of his early tales)--but "The Horror in the Museum" gives me pause. Its tone is like nothing else in Lovecraft that comes to mind, and is far removed from the serious fictive approach found in such classic tales as "The Curse of Yig".

There has been a diversity of critical opinion regarding "The Mound," but I have always found it a captivating tale. This novelette of 29,560 words was ghostwritten for Zealia Brown Reed Bishop, and one can imagine her reaction when HPL sent her the manuscript! Bishop's original plot-germ for the tale, which she sent to Lovecraft, goes thus: "There is an Indian mound near here, which is haunted by a headless ghost. Sometimes it is a woman."

Of late there have been a number of online debates concerning Lovecraft's merits as man and writer. I admire him, keenly, as both. This does not mean that we ignore or try to excuse those personal qualities of Lovecraft's that were ignorant and reprehensible, or that we blindly claim that everything he wrote was golden (although a story that I find extremely poor, "The Horror in Red Hook," certainly has its admirers). His work is like no other; despite the many who have try'd to write a "Lovecraft" story, none have come close to matching HPL's originality and genius. Some mock his prose style but they seem incapable of explaining why they find it so poor. I tend to agree with S. T. Joshi that Lovecraft's prose is among the finest found in all American literature.

Much of that finest prose may be found in this incredibly cool collection. I love this book, and plan to purchase copies for various chums.

My daughter loved this book... until she found the old staircase and was taken by the old gods. Now it's all we have left of her. Lovely presentation, though, I must say.
