Wanted More :(

This isn't my favorite work by Kate. I've binge read all of her previous books and loved them but this book fell short.
The story started great we meet Jordan and I like where the story was going. I love suspenseful reads so as the book progressed I was less than impressed. I was expecting this book to be more like the Walsh series... sexy and witty. You get the start to sexy but then it jumps to another scene. Now I don't mind fade to black stories but the author didn't do so great with that. The rest of the story felt rushed. I wanted more suspense and to feel connected to the characters. I would have loved more of Jordan and April moments together. I did love getting to see Shannon and Will again.
I do plan to read more of Kate's books. She knows how to write so I'm confident she'll write another book I love.

I wonder how long it would take me to get to Montauk???

I shouldn't be surprised. There is nothing "Walsh" about Jordan, and I loved him. This author's way of writing about relationships, not just between partners, but with family and friendships always hits home. All those feels come thru in this book. Enjoyed his POV. I made the mistake of getting comfortable with these characters... Shame on me, and kudos to the author. Just when you think you know someone!! ❤❤❤

5 STARS! A super sexy romance full of surprises!

Kate Canterbury is a genius, no two ways about it. Her writing is always so smart and clever and witty. She stealthily sneaks in some serious smut, and it all comes together in a stellar romance. She's a no-fail, never-let-me-down, auto-buy author for me.
I'm going to be super careful here as I really do not want to spoil anything. So I'll just say that Coastal Elite was, in part, exactly what I had hoped for - a light and breezy, super sexy and romantic love story. But there was definitely a healthy does of the unexpected. This twist had me shooting up in my seat, mouth hanging open, as I devoured the remainder of the story. I didn't see any of this coming, it was a total surprise, and it left me absolutely gobsmacked in the best way. It was fantastic.
It's this kind of story from the astoundingly talented Canterbary that keeps me coming back for more. Her ability to give readers what they want and expect in one of her stories but delivering it with plenty of the unexpected. A Kate Canterbary novel is an experience unlike any other. Loved it!!
