About the Author
I'm Elizabeth Walling, the writer behind The Nourished Life blog. I started my blog in 2009 as a resource for others who are interested in improving their health and well-being the natural way, and wrote my eBooks The Nourished Metabolism and Love Your Body to expand on my favorite topics. I began my own health journey a more than 8 years ago and quickly took a wrong turn. Like many young women, I thought under-eating and over-exercising were the path to health. Boy, was I wrong! After a couple years, my health had gotten progressively worse. I became an exhausted young mom with severe acne, insomnia, PMS, mood swings and no energy! I knew something wasn't right, and that started my investigation into health and nutrition. Today I enjoy excellent health, sleep like a baby and my moods are fantastic (well, most of the time!). But I still wanted to learn more, and I figured there were still a lot of folks out there looking for answers, so that's when I started writing. But who am I? I'm a hippie chick who digs rock 'n' roll. I'm a DIY-er who appreciates a nice pair of heels. I refuse to get cable TV, but boy do I love air conditioning. I've always been a little bit unconventional, which is probably why I embrace an approach to getting healthy that includes listening to your body, finding what works for you and throwing dietary dogma out the window where it belongs. These days I'm living the salt life my totally awesome husband of 12 years and our two children on the Atlantic coast. We love animals, homeschool, and basically enjoy living outside of the box.

What a gift this book is!!

This book is right on time. I've been sick for a while and have gained a lot of weight as a result. I think about it a lot and basically only wear sweatpants and tshirts because I don't like the way I look, and don't fit into all the pretty dresses I used to a year ago. Love Your Body is like a breath of fresh air encouraging me to imagine what might be possible if I loved my body ANYWAY, if I dressed and walked around feeling as pretty and as vibrant as I did when I weighed less. The author reminds us so beautifully that the only difference between then and now is my own self-judgment. That we can choose to love ourselves unconditionally, and not let our imperfections keep us from fully living and loving life is the real gift of this book.

Great pep talk about accepting your own uniqueness!

"Love Your Body..." is full of self help tidbits that make you think about how you talk to yourself when you look in the mirror. You're nice to others and encouraging, but maybe not so much with yourself. This book made me take a look at how I tend to feel like nothing fits and I'm always fat and maybe no one likes me; I know it's not true but I still said them and felt worse. Body love comes from ourselves not from others, we'll never find true acceptance from others until we love ourselves. We're all uniquely made and therefore beautiful in the eyes of God.
"One persons unique beauty doesn't cancel out anyone else. We all have our own beauty. Find yours and embrace it."
This book won't fix everyone's issues but it can be a start in the right direction. I recommend this book to anyone who needs a little pep talk about self love.
